When the moon comes up, these kitties come out to play! If you look closely, you'll see fish, mice, and even cat eyes hiding in the print of the fabrics on the sample image. Have fun shopping for the perfect "surprise" fabrics for your quilt. Dark blues, purples and greys all have that shadowy evening feel, as do prints with a black background.
Feel free to personalize the quilt by changing the colors of the cats to match your own feline friends. You may want to add an appliqued toy or embroidered string for your cats to frolic with.
When pairing fabrics for blocks (Step 1), select fabrics that differ from each other in some way (color, scale, value). Leftover segments, cut from strip sets, are used to make the pieced border. A design wall or other flat surface may be helpful in arranging blocks as desired prior to assembly.
Knowledge of rotary cutting, use of templates, machine piecing and applique is recommended.
Finished quilt size is 49.5" x 49.5".
